Feedback: Literacy for Learning – Melbourne, June 2019

July 2, 2019

A very successful Literacy for Learning tutor training in Melbourne this month. Thank you to Craigieburn Secondary College for hosting our 18 participants.

Great course. Very engaging and interactive. The original LfL course that I did spearheaded my enthusiasm and expanded on my love for language. Should be compulsory either at uni or for teachers. Jeremy Muir, HPE Leader, Craigieburn Secondary College

I have thoroughly enjoyed this course. I have been able to expand my knowledge and confidence in literacy and to teach peers about the use of literacy within their subject areas. Activities are great and help consolidate knowledge and understanding of literacy and literacy strategies. Breannen Bingham, Head of English, Manor Lakes College

I enjoyed the course all over again as I had completed the LfL training. Very valuable in a school context for both teachers and students. Jayshree Moodley

Very enjoyable. Has inspired me to learn more about literacy strategies. Daunting at times, however there was enough materials and resources to assist my understanding. Immensely valuable. This course has enabled me to gain a better understanding of how I can implement literacy strategies into my classrooms. Excellent delivery. Clear presentations, plenty of time given for discussions and review of modules. Alison Bice, English / Humanities teacher, Roxburgh College

Very engaging course delivery, very open to participant contributions. Great to have an intense, four-day course. Making big picture clear. James Woodward, S.T.E.M. Learning Specialist, Craigieburn Secondary College

Thoroughly enjoyed this and now feel empowered about the future of my teaching. Having studied applied linguistics in my undergrad, this covered a lot of topics that I am extremely passionate about. I also appreciated the tangible activities. So, so valuable for me and my students. Important for my school as a whole-school approach. Phoebe-Mae Edwards, Teacher, Roxburgh College

Really liked the content delivery. At some early stages, I didn’t connect with it, but by the end it all came together. Extremely valuable. Kara Dunstan, Educational Leader, McClelland College

Really enjoyed learning new skills and considering how to build the capacity of teachers at our school in relation to learning literacy. Perfect – exactly what we need and when we need it. Delivered with passion and accuracy. Kathryn Henderson, Assistant Principal, McClelland College
