Lynette currently works in the public sector in Australia as an EAL advisor to school leadership teams. Her career spans over 20 years as an ESL teacher, having taught in primary and secondary schools as well as specialist ESL centres. One of the main aspects of her work is to devise, plan and implement quality literacy professional development programs for educators, with a special focus on the language needs of second language learners and the development of whole school approaches to the support of EAL learners. Her interest lies in the important role of the explicit teaching of language across all curriculum areas for all students, both English speaking and second language learners.
Lynette joined the Lexis team in 2017 as an international tutor trainer of the four Lexis courses: How Language Works (HLW); Teaching in English in multilingual classrooms (TEMC); 3L: Language and literacy for learning (3L); Teaching young children in English in multilingual contexts (TYCEMC).
