Feedback: Teaching ESL Students in Mainstream Classrooms – Hong Kong, March 2019

April 1, 2019

Thank you to the Australian International School Hong Kong for hosting a highly successful Teaching ESL Students in Mainstream Classrooms tutor training.

Really enjoyed doing this. Heavy impact. I have grown considerably in 5 days! Intense but very useful. It will take some thought and time to pull each module together but I have seen how effective it can be. Thank you for such patience and hard work. The impact of it has been and will be phenomenal. Vivek Nair, Director, School of the Nations (China)

Loved it all. Structure and sequencing of content is excellent. Relevant and thought-provoking. By far the single most valuable training I have done. Impact on my own practice and increase in student outcomes begins immediately. Illuminating, entertaining, informing – John does it all.  Susan Botcharova, Senior English Teacher, Yew Chung International School of Beijing (China)

I enjoyed the course so much. The course helped me to overcome a lot of barriers in my current teaching positions. Everyone in my school from teachers to students will benefit from this course. The delivery was fantastic. John is an expert in his field. EAL Teacher, International Preparatory School (Mauritius)

I did enjoy the course a lot, particularly the presentation I did. I feel a lot more confident in presenting the course materials in front of my colleagues. Looking forward to attend a course of similar nature in the future. Frankie Cheung, Director of Chinese language and culture, Merchiston International School (China)

I thoroughly enjoyed this course. There were parts of it that confirmed parts of my practice and it also extended my thinking in many ways. I’m hoping to bring about a whole school change in how we teach language. Pareen Tankariwala, Homeroom Teacher Grade 1, Stonehill International School (India)

I have personally learnt a lot about deeper language development and how to apply. Very intensive learning. Useful modules and many practical activities. Clayton Cumming, Learning Support Facilitator, St. Joseph’s Institution International Elementary School (Singapore)

Really enjoyed learning about what I did know and learning about what I can still do. Intense – lots of info and reading but worth it. It all comes together on the Thursday (fourth day). Extremely valuable – has reinforced why we need a whole school approach to literacy. This should be rolled out across our whole school. Nikelle Gordon, Specialist Teacher – Learning Support, Australian International School Hong Kong (Hong Kong)
